I was born in Sheffield and, up until leaving home at seventeen to be a nurse, have lived all my life in Yorkshire.
I came to live in Saddleworth in 1976 having travelled all around the world and have made it my home. I love the dramatic landscapes, the beautiful stone homes and each and every one of the villages and it inspired me then and will continue to for the rest of my life.
For many years now I have attended a community group painting from life and find the human form inspirational and exciting and my main body of work has been with this group.
I have exhibited regularly with the SaddIeworth Group of Artists and in Europe and the USA with an International group of outdoor painters -Les Journee des Peintures - further inspiration from working alongside artists from different nationalities and with different artistic backgrounds.
In the last few years I have also discovered etching, lino cuts, screen printing and wood engraving thanks to the West Yorkshire Print Workshop, and again am thoroughly enjoying this new, for me, mode of work.
I wish to thank all who have inspired me along my journey both by their physical presence, their work and their comments to challenge me further.
I hope you get pleasure from looking at my work .
